Summit Lodge

The highest room in London is usually somewhere you buy a ticket to go up to. The penthouse at Summit Lodge is higher than that, and it's somewhere you live — the ground it's built on sits far enough above the city that the rooms clear the top of the Shard, which officially makes it the highest home in London. Glentree brought me in to sell it. This one was straightforward, and I'd rather say that than invent a problem it didn't have. A genuinely beautiful property going to market, and a campaign that needed to build enough of a vibe around it that the right buyer turned up to the viewing already wanting it.

Project summary

The highest home in London.

At that height the surroundings are most of what you're buying, so the film gave them as much weight as the flat itself — the position, the outlook, and what the light does across the day. Then inside, where the property had far more character than a penthouse usually gets credit for. The living room on the upper floor opens onto a panoramic view over the best of London. A staircase drops out of the ceiling and takes you up to the terrace, which is the kind of moment a photograph can do nothing with. The master bedroom is built around a strong Asian design that has no business working as well as it does. The other call was to film the building as part of the deal rather than as background. Manicured gardens, a pool, a gym, a private car park. Someone buying at this level is buying the whole place and the way they'd use it on an ordinary Saturday, and the film had to carry that. Produced in collaboration with Glentree.
